“Learning from the Best: Adapting U.S. MICE Practices to Jakarta”
For the first time this year, The Road to INAMICE 2025 was held as a pre-event to the highly anticipated
8th INAMICE Conference, marking a significant step in Jakarta’s journey to position itself as a leading
hub for sustainable MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) in Asia. Organized by the
MICE Study Program of Politeknik Negeri Jakarta, and supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative
Economy of Indonesia, the Jakarta Provincial Tourism Office, and the United Nations, this milestone
event took place on February 21, 2025, at @america, Pacific Place Mall. Bringing together prominent
industry leaders, youth representatives, and international organizations, the event centered around the
importance of environmentally responsible event planning and the active role of young people in
advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Among the key speakers were Raty Ning, Vice Chairman for Tourism at KADIN Indonesia and Chairperson of
ICCA Indonesia, and Miklos Gaspar, Director of the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) Jakarta.
Their insights shed light on practical strategies for implementing green innovations, reducing carbon
footprints, and encouraging cross-sector collaboration to build a more sustainable future for
Indonesia's event industry. The session also highlighted global best practices, zero-waste initiatives,
and youth-led environmental movements that can inspire local adaptation. More than just a discussion
forum, The Road to INAMICE 2025 served as a collaborative platform that underscored the shared
responsibility of stakeholders—governments, private sectors, educational institutions, and international
bodies—in shaping a greener MICE ecosystem.
