Established in 2014 by the MICE Study Program of Politeknik Negeri Jakarta, with annual support
from the Ministry of Tourism and MICE industry associations, it has evolved into a leading forum
for stakeholders in the Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry. The
8th edition of INAMICE, set to take place in 2025, will carry the theme "Achieving Sustainable
Development Goals 2030 in Jakarta through Sustainable MICE Practices" This theme
highlights
Jakarta’s potential to lead the transition by integrating globally recognized sustainability
frameworks, including ISO 20121: Sustainable Event Management, into its MICE sector. This will
enhance Jakarta’s reputation as a responsible global event destination and also strengthen
Indonesia’s competitiveness on the world stage.
Sustainability is becoming a major priority in the global MICE industry, with event organizers
and destinations increasingly adopting eco-friendly practices to reduce carbon footprints and
promote social responsibility. As more countries align with Net Zero Carbon goals and circular
economy principles, the demand for sustainable events continues to grow. Indonesia, recognizing
this shift, is embracing international standards such as ISO 20121 to enhance its global
competitiveness. With Jakarta leading the way in implementing Sustainable MICE practices, the
country is positioning itself as a key player in hosting carbon-neutral and high-impact events,
driving innovation and long-term resilience in the industry.
